Rima as such u r not eligible as age limit is 28 years for graduate and 30 for PG but u can check it out if u belong to the following criteria u can get age relaxation:
age relaxation
(b) a maximum of 05 years in case of : Ex-employees of banking institutions whose services had to be terminated
for reasons of economy measures or as a result of the bank going into
liquidation (iii) personnel retrenched from Govt. Offices after at least one
year’s service
(c) 10 years for PWD (General); 13 years for PWD (OBC) and 15 years for
PWD (SC/ST) applicants.
However u needn’t to worry if u r having a 3 years or more exp(out of 5 u r having) at officers level u can apply for managers level of various govt sec banks.

Anil , the examination pattern for IT officer exams are more or less the same. The thing that comes while talking about SBI is that the difficulty level is little bit tough and also the competition.
They are more exhaustive in giving the descriptive paper.Prepare well on networking , general questions on internet like WAP , VPN , applications of these.

Anil - This is the pattern of the examination.Same as rest of the IT Ofiicer exams.
Objective Test:
1. English Language
2. Reasoning and/or
3. Quantitative Aptitude
4 Descriptive Paper (DP)/Professional Knowledge (PK).
Candidates have to score minimum qualifying marks (Mean Marks) in these papers. In DP/PK test, the candidates should secure 50%marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD) to be eligible for being short-listed for interview. Candidates must secure at least 40% marks (35% for SC/ST/PWD) in interview to be considered for selection.

Hi all,
I have written Allahabad Bank PO exam 2009, overall it was good. But I have a fear since I could not do well in Reasoning Section as I attempted only 27 questions out of 75 , the rest was OK, General awareness was extremly good. Can somebody tell me if there is any chance of getting selected. Further, i wrote the exam in OBC Quota. Will there be a difference in Cut off between OBC and General Category?
I am also applying for Canara Bank PO. Attempting 50% questions in each section will do good I suppose rather than attempting too many questions in 1 or 2 sections.

Ramananda , its all depend upon the relative performance. If others did not perform then you can have better chances.But do not think in terms of attempts . If you have done all correct then it does not make much difference . The level of accuracy matters then the no of attempts.
Regarding the OBC factor ,then sorry friend OBC cut off remains same as general candidates .Apart from the OBC quota, there is not much advantage in cut off for OBC candidates.And you are right , 50 % attempts are good attempts if you do with 90 - 100 percent accuracy.

Naveen is right make this blog as a full discussion for bank PO exams..because it will help all of us and will be a single platform for all the queries and answers.
i also gave Allahabad bank PO exam..It was good for me General awareness was not so good I dont think i would be able to clear it:-(…Ramananda as u mentioned ur GA section was extremely good can u please share something about this section so that be can prepare hard and manage to clear next exams..because this section is creating a lots of problem for me I am not able to attempt teh question more than 40%…and teh accuracy rate is around 80% so i am only able to solve 25-30 Questions out of 75 and I know this is not sufficient to clear the PO cut off…
And naveen as i am seeing the pattern for PO’s exam there are 30 to 40% Questions are from last 3-4 months GA and 35 to 40 % they asked from last 1 year GA..so can u post more and more questios for this section..and i want everybody to participate and help others.

I noticed in this blog discussion everyone is facing problem in GA or GK lets come together and help each other to make this section easier for everyone…I want everyone to suggest ideas for this..
I have a idea lets we all upload last oen year GA question in this site Naveen will compile it and will create a single section for GA section..I think if we would be able to create 1000 question for GA then it wont be difficult to clear our next exam..I am looking for canara bank are you guys with me?????…so please come on and help each other.

As you mentioned about the Idea of scanning the Magzine, its good one but there is some problem of Legal action against the blog “insiderthings.com” as BSC is not my property.

Amit I only get some GK photo states ……….Rest of the papers are not there with me. As they are hard copy , it takes some time to convert into soft copy and then put on blog. I have written one practice paper - I . Check out the GK category on home page blog.

Maha , GK is one the toughest section Bank PO exams . As you can view from the opinion poll that most of the candidate face the problem in GK . So read the one newspaper daily.Take the subscription of BSC chronicle or mahendra’s ,monthly magazine on GK .
These would help you to keep updated . and we are also putting the GK from the various GK books. So you can visit regularly here and be updated.

Laxmi , I have written some basics about the interview . So have a look on them.
Rest of the things are more general in level. I mean to say questions came from the Daily updates. As one of the candidate given the clerical interview . She interview one question even on IPL. So be updated to latest major events that are happening around you.
Questions from your graduation stream . As you are an engineer then questions from that can be asked . Question about your favorite subject. Why the change from engineering to bank line ? Your long term goals and your vision for your life ?
Prepare these questions and practice in front of mirror . This will give you a confidence to face the interview . If you can face yourself , you can face any body.
Have any doubt in mind. Do not hesitate to ask . We are help you .All the best.

Pooja , the fist question is about to start the general discussion between the interviewer and the candidate . So , do not worry regading this quesion . Be confident and prepare a nice start by adding ur educational qualifications and your ambitions in life ie. wht u wants to achieve in life .
Simply geeting a job of PO is not your life’s goal . You have to achive much higer than this and how PO is going to help you to achive ur goals in life .
Prepare through on ur extra carriculars activities as they play good role in interview . Be updated regarding the latest happenings and must have ur openion on that .Prepare small points on that .

Me: Hi Sirs, Im Vijay
Int1: So Ajay, tell me about yourself.
Me: As i told you, my name i Ajay and im from Mangalore. I did my graduation in Business Management from Mangalore University. And as far as my hobbies concerned, i dont have any special activity which i do during my liesure. But i prefer watching TV, reading news paper and sometimes even read novels on free time.
Int2: You said you read news papers, which all news papers you read?
Me: I usually read Times of India, But some times even i read the Hindu.
Int3: So tell me what were the headlines in yesterdays and todays news paper?
Me: In yesterdays news paper, the headline was that the death of LTTE Chief and confusions over his death, ie whethere he is really killed or still alive?
And in todays news papers, we can see Congress set to form the Goverment.
Int1: What are your opinion on Muthaliks action recently?( Since i belonged to Mlore, they specifically asked me this)

Int2: Tell us something about your hometown?

Int3: Who are the Prime Ministers of Nepal, Srilanka and Pakistan and what exactly is happening now in these countries?

Int1: Why do you want to join our Bank when you are getting a good package from your company?

Int3: See Ajay, we cannot pay the salary what your drawing now, it will be very less than what you are getting now. And you can be posted anywhere in India and you should be ready to relocate anywhere.
Me: Sir, im not really worried abt my salry. Im a future orinted person. You are correct that im drawing a very good salary now. But what if i dont get even a penny in the future. Now a days, due to the recession, most of the companies are closing dowm. People are going to the streets. In this situation, it is better of have something, than nothing. And most importantly it was dream to join banks. Coz it is one of the fields where you get name and fame.
And as far as my posting is concerned, i love to travel and search new places, learn their culture and their way of living. talk to new people, interactwith them and all that. It is really a nice experince.

This is how my interview was. Im yet waitin for my result. Im not sure if my answes were up to their expectations. Im even not sure if the answers were right or not? But atleast you can get an idea of what kind of questions will be asked. Im happy tohelp you.

Hi Anu, as far as i know, yes, Banks will give weightage to the marks scoed in the schools and colleges. But your performance in the interview also is as important as your marks, in fact much more than the marks scored. Answer well in the interview. Dont be scared. be calm. Thats it

Thanks Amit, Its not only me. I expect everyone to be open minded and not to hesitate in sharing their secrets with others. Dont be under the impression that, if you share your secrets of success with others, you will be under threat of getting competetion. No not at all. It depends on the person again. hi guys….i hv given canara bank po interview on 8th june there were 3 members in a panel…they asked to tell me abt myself and my family,then they asked me wht r my weak points,as i m frm business family they asked me y i didnt jion my father business,they asked my daily routine,most difficult task accomplished by me,as i m frm commerce background they asked me wht is charge?wht is pledge?wht is diff b/w pledge and hypothecation,wht tax concessions u can expect in cming budget,which sectors need more concessions.and last question was y didnt u go fr law or c.a..
my interview was held fr around 10-15min..my interview for me went so-so..

Ensuing written test for the recruitment of specialist officers,
Probationary officers and probationary cash-cum-general clerks at United Bank of India on June 14, 21 and 28 respectively.
Procedure for issuance of Duplicate Call Letters for Written Examination :
All eligible candidates will be issued call letters at the correspondence address given by the candidate in their application form, which will be sent by ordinary post. An eligible candidate who does not receive the call letter for the post of Specialist Officer by 8.6.2009, for the post of Probationary Officer by 15.6.2009 and for the post of Probationary Cash-cum-General Clerk by 22.06.2009 should visit the office of the respective contact persons authorized to issue duplicated call letters (as shown hereunder), located at his/her opted examination centre along with the details of his/ her name, address as also with the Xerox copy of the application form for each post, details of Demand Draft and a recent passport size photograph for obtaining duplicate call letters. Duplicate call letters will be issued between 10.6.2009 and 13.6.2009 for Specialist Officers, between 17.6.2009 and 20.6.2009 for Probationary Officers and between 24.06.2009 and 27.06.2009 for Probationary Cash-cum-General Clerks by the following respective contact persons ;

yesterday i attended iob po interview at Delhi.i would like to share my experience.It cud b helpful for others.There were three members in my panel.they asked me some banking ques.as what is a cheque and a bankers cheque nd difference b/w them,what is NBFC’s and how they work,what is Free Market economy,Recession,Depression,course of action to take an economy out of recession..then there were some ques. like if God ask u to fullfill ur one wish what it would be,ur strengths which makes u fit to b a po,ur fav. colour n y u like it,name a person whose thoughts fill u wid utter disgust nd u wnt to put 10 slaps to him..

I will get 57 marks in reasoning section 40 in general awareness and 30 marks in maths, paper was quite simple.my category is general.

Sectional cut off is 50%.overall cut off will be decided by bank.It is given in employment news.
Regarding PNB as per me in math and reasoning if you hope to get 60% mark then start preparing for mains.

For bank po ,general candidates need 120 plus score out of 200, OBC 110 plus and sc/st 90 plus score. But it depends upon vacancies. Reasoning 1.06 mark for one question . GA and QA 1.2 mark pr one question. 1.06 * 75 = 80. 1.2*100 = 120. Total 200 mark/score. You got it.

Dear Admin,
The SBI Associates exam to be held on Mar 7,2010 mentions only these 4 categories i.e. a) Test of Eng language, b)Test of General Awareness,Marketing and Computers, c)Test of Data Analysis and Interpretation (DI) and d)Test of Reasoning (High level) for Phase I.
Does this mean there is no Quantitative Aptitude questions which shall be asked apart from DI?
Also how different is Test of Reasoning (high level) from the regular Test of Reasoning Qs asked all this while in bank exams?

Regarding KVB: results were declared not in their website but throgh individual mails.. they are taking batchwise.. one of my friend being selected and got posting too..
