I am also preparing for bank PO exams.I have given OBC nd PNB exams..but couldnt able to clear them.One problem in these exams is we dont where we performed good or bad.As we hane each sessional cut off.So some time quant is good some time english is good so on.but we miss one thing and not able to clear it as expected.
I am seeking one thing in this site…a forum for discussion of bank PO’s exams, as i gave south indian bank exam yesterday.Today i am looking someone to whom i can discuss how was the paper which section was tough and lots of content. and one more thing may be add in this site like u discussed how to prepare for english cut off.i know u r abst rite but difficulty is time management. We dont have enough time to do all the sections. And for passage reading and then answers the question based on them require around 20 to 25 minute but we dont have this much of time.

I had recently given the exam of IDBI Bank but I faced the same problem of not having enough time for solving all the questions as I devoted more time in GA and English section. Can you tell me how can one prepare for GA in 15 - 30 days for Bank PO exams???
Can you give the idea when the result of IDBI Bank will come???

thanks alot…u know i am really impressed work done by u at this level.. i have many ideas to improve this site and wants other user to come forward and put all their thoughts in this…like ‘Anshul’ says he faced problem in IDBI paper these are the common problems…we all give all the exams related to bank.. i have 7 or 8 exams coming in next to month….i have already given 3-4 exams…as my experience in these exams..
OBC…it was my first bank PO exam,quant and reasoning was not a problem for me..but GK was tough for me and for english i left no time so it was a bad exp..
PNB…again i did well in this exam…but english was the problem so coundnt cleared it..
IDBI…i am waiting for result quant was good reasoning was superb
english was fine(because it was required for passing only)…but GK was not good:-(
South indian bank….in this exam we were given little more time..so i was able to count my questions…i managed to solve 69 out of 75 in reasoning 28 out of 50 in Quant 27 out of 50 in english..i have hope for this exam but i am not interested in this as i gave this only for having hand on experience..
Next i am waiting for Allahabad bank exams

ya naveen we can discuss on south Indian bank exam…but u know i want all the user of this site participate in this only then this can we helpful..what i want to discuss in this exam is…
1. In Quant(math) questions calculations was more than any exams..there were calculations based questions
for example
331 x 31 x 3…
square root of(1000 + 100 + 10)..
etc…
all these questions was really to lengthy and it almost ate my time then i left this section and solved DI questions..
In English as u discussed we should try to do passege but i never try this because it consumes lots of time..i did error correction question and fill in the blanks..but i was not 100 percentage sure in this questions…this is my biggest problem…
Next i want to prepare for Allahabad GK…so far i prepared from CSR but dynamic GK is fine from this magzine but sometime static GK takes ur head down..

I want to give anshul answers..
Anshul u can prepare dynamic GK in one day only..u take 4 or 5 months CSR and u r through dynamic GK..but for static u need to put lots of effort…i have around 500 questions of GK I will share them on this site…
and dont worry yaar result aa jayega..i think it should come by 10th of march

Amit, I have done my summer internship in National Informatics Center , CGO Complex . Some of my friend given the NIC exam. From there reference I have some idea about the type of questions the paper will ask.
Amit there questions are short in nature and NIC asks very basic questions.They deal mainly in PHP , Databases and application development. VB and .Net are their favorite one . I have seen lots of projects that are going on these platforms.
So prepare well for SQL Commands like triggers ,table creation , how to put constraints in table designing .Keywords like backup , recovery are important.Few Questions from mySQl will come as they work heavily on Apache server , so have a look on them.One thing I forget , questions on OOPS . NIC have separate Java Development Team , so prepare OOPS concept in thorough.Prepare very basic questions on OOPS , do not go very deep in the concepts.NIC checks the initial level of competency in candidates .
That friend also not in touch with me otherwise I surely let him to help you in this regard.Amit presently I do not have any pool of such questions . I am trying to get some thing in this regard and I put them as soon as I find .

Amit You have requested for Automatic Approval . Initially have automatic approval.Find I just find lot of spams are coming on and putting vulgar things .

Amit , I have very little info about the NIC exam . I put my best to explain each and every thing that I know about that examination.As you have very little time left so try to cover that areas in which your are good.I mean some of the areas like OOPS or Data Structure you like most , so dedicate time for these topics . Do not try to cover each and every thing that comes in your way.Be specific and put best efforts .

I also appeared in NIC.there was 100 objective question,in 100,75 Q r carry one mark and 25 Q carried 3 marks.Question had asked from Data Structure,C,C++,java,Operating System,5/6 Question from chips design .
I m explaining one by one Subject-:
In 1. Datastructure-INorder,Btree,Link List,Complexity of Sorting Technique.just questions were some tricky just like GATE Examination.My suggestion is for next asspirants that always solve Gate Paper.
2.C:
In c there was really conceptual question they given sample ppiece of program and asked error,o/p.this is also in c++.
3 java- in java they asked jsp,code reviewbugs about cyclometric complexity,simple java program and find error and out put.
4 OS-this part could say eassy and also tough.
this asked fundamental question thrassing,Swappping,page fault.

Shweta , this blog is dedicated to banking examinations completely . As you request to put some information regarding the LIC exam , I try to put some post on the pattern of the examination and some previous exam papers . These things would help you get through the examination . There is not much difference in this exam also. So keep preparing with quant , DI and english sections . All the best.

friend please tell;syndicate bank joining (training programme)will be start from when ,if a candidate qualify the interviews for bank p.o.recruitment 2009..interviews expected in (10-15 july).. i think final appointment and training at staff college will start after 3 months of interview(is it)?? [that is starting in october 2009]??

Hi All,
Well I am new to Bank PO , but as Amit told about the following questions :331 x 31 x 3…
square root of(1000 + 100 + 10)..
its very simple, no body wants you to calculate these, its only the mind calculation for example 331x 31x 3 will give 3 as last digit, and if there out of 5 choices you have 2 numbers having last digit as 3, the nwxt step should be 300×30x3 = 27000 so any number greater than this ending with 3 is the answer.
For the square root problem : same approximation 1000+100+10=1110= 1100 approx = 11 x 100= 10 x sqr rt 11.= 10 x 3.3( approx as 3square =9 and 4 square is 16 so something 3.3 sqaure is 11)so final answer is 33(approx). Now if we do 33 square we will get 1089. Where as 34 square is 1156.
Also there are some questions like 2/8+ 2/16+ 5/4=? for this 2×2/16+ 2/16+ 5×4/4×4= 4+2+20/16=26/16=13/8 Ans. Just make denominator same, by multiplying numerator and denominator.
Well though this seems very lenghty but if you have enough practce it hardy takes time. Hope the said info is beneficial.
And Regarding English section what i think is Passage type and fill in the blanks are the most safe bets and try to avoid questions pertaining finding grammatical errors.
For GK have no clues better to follow news and more important read current affairs happened 2-3 months before the exam.
Being from a technical background i never prepare for quantitative section but solving atleast 1 model paper before exam is advisable.
Reasoning, I think it requires practice solving 5 to 6 model papers with good speed is the key.
Above all please dont blindly follow the following: I think it is better to do only 50% in each section and in GK do only what you know. If you can make GK upto 40% and other section 50% You have definately an edge.
